My content is being stolen !!!

It came to me as a surprise as I found an article published by me on digitaljournal.com by a guy using the name Critical_Conformity. He exactly copied and pasted the article without giving any credit. Look at the guts this guy had. He has made $200+ by publishing stuff which other people write and taking credit for it. He also has a fan base who admire him for the articles I wrote. Yes I am MAD!!!

He stole the piece I did on Learning Annex. You can look at it here. If the URL is not working then take a look at the screen shot below.
The second piece he stole was the article I did on Standing Up for your Thought. You can look at the thief's work over here. He republished the article here by changing the image. If the URL is not working then take a look at the screen shot below.
On digitaljournal.com, his profile and after digging around a bit I found his technorati.com profile, where his real name is listed as Danny Downey. He has a bunch of blogs. I have no personal problem with Danny except he stole my articles and gave no credit and responded to people's comment like he wrote the article's. To me he represents the internet scum and free rider, who want to make the money at other people's expense.

I would warn all of you to search digitaljournal.com to make sure you are not being robbed.

Also to stop Danny Downey and all other thief's like him, we need a social blogging system(like MyBlogLog) which blacklist's such people and degrade their internet reputation. A system in which people can report plagiarism from all over the web and then the community blacklists those people and report it to Google and Yahoo so they are no longer listed with the search engines.

What are your thoughts ? What should be my next steps?

Update: I made a complaint to digital journal community and got a great response from Christopher Hogg. Thanks Elaine and Jonathan Bailey of plagiarismtoday.com and digitaljournal(DJ) community members( GotTheScoop, cgull and Bocephalus) for your support and direction. The email I received from DJ's Christopher Hogg clears digitaljournal.com of any wrong doing in my books but still leaves me searching for a better system to fight plagiarism and create awareness.

Addicted to Growth !!!

I have been tagged by Steli, a blogger whom I have known recently through MyBlogLog and whom I have come to respect due to his initiative Supercool School. Vote for his education proposal at ChangeThis.

So the question is why I am successful? When I started this blog I made a post called Five Practical Rules to Making it Big. I will take some of the points from that to answer this question.

Firstly I defined success for myself to be in the top 1000 blog on Technorati, so I am not quite there yet. I started this Blog as a personal motivation blog. To collect and tell myself things which will motivate me and basically get the job done. As I went along I discovered a community and love from so many people that it inspired me to start writing for others.

My single biggest asset is persistence. Just keep at it. If you want to make your blog successful then just write consistently and you will get noticed. Don't be too obsessed with the results focus on the task and be optimistically confident you will reach there. Enjoy the process, love your competition and give your support to everybody.

I wrote in Self Help Hoax, that have a sense of direction and you will always succeed. You know everything which you need to know to reach to the next level, don't wait. Just make a plan and execute it, don't wait to make a perfect plan as then you will always be dreaming of that perfect plan. You will grow as you move out of your comfort zone, and learn and grow some more. Love life and people and accept that people out there will love you for who you are and embrace your uniqueness.

Believe in yourself and that you and only you can attract your desires in your life. Learn from life as you go on and you will see why some are successful while others are not. In the Game of Life you will win only if you think you can. Strong ideas and beliefs will make a stronger you, which will attract other people to your ideas and beliefs. Stay confident, persistent and stand up for your thoughts. If you jump from a building you will die regardless of whether you are a good person or a bad person because of the Law of Gravitation. So understand the laws of the universe and gear your desires in accordance with them and you will become an ustoppable force. Just feel good about yourself and leave the rest to the universe.

Express love towards things in your life, give away to the needy and get rid of your fears by doing things which you are afraid of and you will soon see this momentum in your life which will make people wonder what do you do different.

Be in the moment and enjoy the process and you will be successful. Success is an inner attitude, once you attain it inside you will have it outside.

Attracting Things in your life !!

I read this at powerfulIntentions.com, about attracting things in your life.

It cannot be made any simpler. If any of you have read Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill throughout the book keeps talking about the formula to riches, but he never specifies it. He wants readers, to read the book and perceive the formula it in their own words.

This is the exact formula Napoleon hill is talking about it. If you can see the power in this simple process, if you can believe in it then be confident and start playing with it and have fun !!

Are you feeling down ?

Even if you have experienced numerous miracles, at times of distress and pressure you always feel hopeless. Some problem or technical issue at hand always seems to try to test you with your strength and courage. It is in these moments of extreme pressure or vulnerability your character is formed. It is when all the positive stuff and being optimistic seems a hoax and nothing seems in order is when you are very close to your goal. Don't give up now and especially do not go to sleep. Take a break !
Explain your situation to your boss, co-worker or family and ask them how they would get past this block. Have fun, try to go and enjoy a warm shower or a great song or a workout and relax and ease up on yourself. Ask yourself what is good about this? Your first response will be "Shut Up..there is nothing good about this!" ...but thats not true that is just frustration talking. Ask again and you will see maybe you need to prepare more or read more or know more to reach or attain or achieve at certain goal.

Remember these problems or as i like to call challenges are there for a reason so you excercise your brain and use your power to grow mentally or spiritually or physically or socially or in some way that you can now perceive the new solution and you know what to do when you get there. So remember the road to success is basically just having control over yourself: No Fear, Calmness and Satisfaction, Present Moment Awareness, Love for things/people around you and harmonious thoughts in the world within.

It seems to always get me out of chaos and center myself to gather my energy and focus on the solution and grow in ever wonderful ways.

In moments of desperation and frustration I always tell myself this quote from John Stuart Mill,“There are many truths of which the full meaning cannot be realized until personal experience has brought it home."

There is a reason I am here at this moment facing some difficulty and should learn the bigger lesson rather than fretting. I am proud to be bestowed with this unique situation at this time of my life. If HE has brought me here HE will get me through. I will come out of this a better and stronger person. I am unstoppable !!!

Stand up for your thoughts !

In this day and time, we are bombarded with outside ideas that we hardly have original ideas. We tend to succumb to the conformity of the world outside and accept things as they are. We do not question things? If someone says it is like this, we accept it.

Remember being a kid, when you were inquisitive and wanted to know everything....Where did that creative force diminish?

Be a rebel and question the validity of any stated comment which tends to influence you. Be aware and pay attention to who and what you want to become into. And then dont let anyone sway your ideas of your self. Be a rebel if you have to ..of course i dont mean to do something which is against the greater good but stand up and fight for something you believe in because you if dont' then nobody else is going to. Become Alpha !!

These posts are a way to remind myself that my inner world is loud and I should listen to it.

What is Alpha Male ?

There is a theory about alpha males which comes from animals. Alpha's are those males which we consider to be lucky as they have the power, influence, money, charm, fame, love, respect and happiness. They "seem to" have it all. The perception they give is of charm and suaveness, that everything is perfect in their lives.

A lot of us envy them, some respect and admire them while others look at them as evil but all of us deep down inside wonder what is it that they do different. Yesterday I had this long conversation with my friend who is going through some tough times and refuses to see the good. He cannot think that anything is good in his life. He feels there is an invisible hand which is fucking him. So I tried to tell him to accept things what they are and be grateful and things will start changing. But people in that state of mind cannot listen, they keep talking about how everything is bad.

So it was 2 hours before he decided that he has had enough. That conversation made me realize how most people want to run away from problems and make it look like it is the end of the world and get depressed instead of fighting it. It is time to become Alpha and realize how important you are. It could be losing your job, your girlfriend or both or something else but the thing to remember is you still have yourself. And before you had that job, that girlfriend or whatever you lost it was just you to start with. And on your self you managed to manifest a job, a girlfriend or other things...what makes you think you cannot do it again?

Alpha Male is a term you will usually read about in dating realm but it applies to all areas of life.

A good way to visualize alpha is Tyler Durden in Fight Club. He was over the top but mostly Alpha's get behind what they want until they get it. They are brilliant, smart, influential and execute plans with confidence.

Were they born this way? NO. They were conditioned by the circumstances to become that way or they choose to be that way. They all have courage to do whatever it takes.

Lets talk about the characteristics of an Alpha:
-confidence
-inner strength
-calmness
-peace of mind
-strong self-belief
-has a game plan
-charming
-direct and cocky at times
-get the job done
-proud of themselves
-high self esteem
-Only apologise once, if they are wrong then they forgive themselves and move on
-Practical with control on thoughts and emotions
-Passionate about life
- LIVE IN THE MOMENT and only FOCUS ON WHAT THEY WANT

You can also call them self-centered and full of themselves with an edge to follow the dream they have. Ideally that might not sound right but in the real world we adore these people and quickly become followers as we think they know something which we do not.

To the struggling souls out their, whether you are trying to get your ex back or simply trying to learn how to be be more Alpha... work on the inner game..develop these alpha qualities and your outside world will become like that.

Get rid of Fear and Succeed !! Feel Good

...you were all excited and happy and looking forward to the exciting day you have created for yourself when suddenly you heard from an old unpleasant friend, or your bad vibes hot ex girlfriend(the image on the left) or you owe government some money or any other negative event happened that it brought your hidden fears to surface and all of a sudden the bright sun of opportunities and success seem to be covered by clouds of doubt and fear. Can you relate?

Have you ever questioned why does a certain news make you feel like that. There are two reasons:
1) Focus - everything you are focusing on is your reality. When you hear about this negativity your whole focus is around that. You feel you are going to be suckered into it and you keep dwelling on it, which in turn leads to fear. You tend to give too much importance to these people or events(more than they deserve...they are not important..tell yourself you are important). Ask yourself what do you want to get done in the next hour? And get on with the task. One task at a time and soon you will be a strong person.

2) Fear - Once you are afraid (about how you will confront or what will you say or how you will deal with a situation) you tend to start getting suckered into your own reality of fear. What if the other person attacks your self image or respect or puts you down or the government leaves you no money or your credit will be bad..STOP...(one sec)..BREATHE...(one sec)...THINK about a RED GIRAFFE,no really imagine playing soccer with a YELLOW ELEPHANT and RED GIRAFFE who are the same height as you are....how the giraffe and elephant are rubbing off their colours on you while playing and by the end of 20 minutes you are painted yellow and red..and they kicked your ass in soccer and are giving each other high fives....haha..absolutely ridiculous....but that imagery makes you laugh with a wtf expression and breaks your downward spiral pattern.

Now you have to remember this situation has aroused because you have to experience, grow and make yourself stronger so in the future you will know how to stand up for yourself.

Be PROUD to be who you are and what you have done with your life. Do not let one instance or one ill thinking person or a bad choice or a phone call ruin those countless moments of fun, pleasure, dream and excitement you have created for yourself. And the countless people who think you are a great friend, husband,wife, co-worker,father..etc...

Love yourself, be grateful, give graciously and the good will follow. Go get that angel(isn't she hotter than the ex above, see everything happens for good !!) or that dream job or that wish of yours.

Make a plan of what you want the outcome of a situation to be and start focusing on that. Feel powerful !! And remember once you resolve this, let go of the past differences and live with harmony. Learn to forgive yourself and others.

Get the girl - Stop being clingy !

Have you seen those guys, once they get a girl they think of her as her most prized possesion and never want to let go as she is the hottest, most beautiful etc. girl they think they can get. Or on the other end guys who think they can never get the girl as they are too boring for her. Well its mostly the guys who think they can never get a girl, when they land themselves with a girl they become clingy.

Asking her permission to do stuff, saying sory to her if he accidentally flirted with some other hot girl, writing poems all the time when you are away from her, telling her she is your everything, everytime you see her HAHA stop buddy !! You are embarassing the male gender and above all yourself.

She will not say a word but slowly but surely you will lose the girl. One day she will be out on a girls night out and bored that she is by being in the relationship with you, she will look for options. No matter what girls say about the kinda of man they want, in the end they want a MAN. Not some guy who is compromising everything he wants to do, be and have just to keep her in their life. Remember you girlfriend should be a fine addition to your already exciting life, not the only thing in your life. So MAN UP !!

If you say but she is all I got, then stop being emotional and go find some hobbies. Something which you enjoy doing and can do it alone. Something which you are passionate about. You do not need her approval. Be nice and caring but not overly possesive and suspicious. Life your life, enjoy being with yourself and sharing yourself with others. A relationship is a beautiful thing until it is growing, the moment you start becoming clingy you do couple of things:
1) You send the message that you are not independent and need her to depend on.
2) You actions tell her that she is the most important thing in the world, which is great once in a which but your actions speak this out loud all the time. Too much of anything is never good. Everyone is human, nobody is perfect if you put someone on a pedastal they will take you for granted and become or lead you to your worst nightmare.

Like any business in life, ideal and logical things sound great but we live in an emotional world and we have to operate on an emotional level if wish to suceed with people. I have a formula I call it C2P3HD, it stands for Courage-Calmness-Passion-Patience-Persistence-HardWork-Determination and you will need these to suceed at anything in yourlife. To put it in dating perspective:
Courage - You need this to approach a girl and break the ice. Learn to make them laugh. Reclaim your power.
Calmness- Be calm wwhile you are talking to her. Be in control of yourself
Passion - Show passion about your life and hobbies and market yourself. Why you are interesting?
Patience - Once you get the date, Be patient, don't be excited. Remember too close too soon is trouble
Persistence - You need this if the girl is playing hard ball but be persistent in a manly way. Talk with authority. When you call her, just say hi, instead of hi this is Mr. X. Let her guess. Make it fun
HardWork - That's rite like anything in life, be ready to put in the work initially. Trust me with time it will come naturally.
Determination - Also this goes without saying, be DETERMINED about what you wnt and combined with the above properties you will get it.

So stop being clingy and join the MAN CLAN. Remember no matter what you do you will always have yourself to fall back on so build a strong self. Everything you do make sure it will bring you happiness and peace of mind.

For all the women out there who are tired of clingy guys and need a MAN, I think you all need to attract this prince charming.

Gradefix - Get your own Personal Secretary !

GradeFix is a nice service which lets student manage their time better. You simply have to put in your schedule and it will move things around on its own if they are not completed. Its like having your own Personal Secretary;)

There are two plans available free and premium. The only limitation in the free plan is you can have upto a maximum of 10 tasks. When you signup you get to experience the premium version for 30 days.

During sign up in study time i put 7 hours for everyday. And in my classes I added MATH 202, PHIL 101, CHEM 202, CS 111 and ECE 212. The main screen lets you Add Tasks, Customize you Schedule, Use filters to view only specific course tasks and set email reminders. You can also get RSS feeds of your schedule as well.

When you add a task you have an option to add it as Homework, Reading, Quiz Study and Exam Study. I added 6 tasks in the following order:
PHIL 101 - Reading Assignment Due on Feb 14th
MATH 212 - Homework Assignment Due Feb 15th
CHEM 202 - Quiz Due on Feb 15th
CS 111 - Midterm Due on Feb 16th
ECE 212 - Midterm Due on Feb 16th
PHIL 101 - Reading Assignment Feb 23rd
If you want to see all you assignments then set the filter to 180 days. By default it is set to 7 days and it took me sometime to figure out how to display the assignment due on 23rd. Make sure you click the Due Date checkbox to see all due dates in the specified time in the filter.

But the cool thing is it breaks down the time assignment for each day. Once i set the study time to 7 hours each day, GradeFix still showed me study times of 14hrs on 7 hr days. Then I went to the schedule adjuster and adjusted the times there for it to show times of little over 7hrs.

I am sure that means that i have to put in more than 7 hours of study time if I wish to complete my assignment on time. The schedule adjuster does not mention the time units which makes it a little confusing but I assumed it were minutes and it worked well.

Some nice to have features will be to see the time in a calendar like interface so it shows me what time of the day I should be studying rather than just the hours of study. It will also help out to see everything integrated like my study time, class time, activities time and give me a better look at my overall schedule and help me balance work and school.

Overall this is a great tool for students and is priced optimally, not drinking one beer a month will help you manage your schedule and know when to work and when to play. I was wondering if this could be integrated into Outlook or Gmail and further help out so I emailed GradeFix and received an email from Mark Polson, CEO and CoFounder of GradeFix and he mentioned that they are working on an export to iCal, gCal, and Outlook so people can use it for non-school functions. This chapter is all about the importance of imagination and the power we command by our imagination. It is evident that we are to hate nothing, not even the "bad," because hatred is destructive.

Successful men make it their business to hold ideals of the conditions which they wish to realize. They constantly hold in mind the next step necessary to the ideal for which they are striving. Thoughts are the materials with which they build, and the imagination is their mental workshop. Exercise: Take an object and follow it back to its origination, see of what it really consists. If you do this you will develop imagination, insight, perception, and sagacity. Take the same position and visualize a Battleship; you know that by far the largest part of the vessel is under water; you know that the ship is as large and as heavy as a twenty-story skyscraper; you know that there are hundreds of men ready to spring to their appointed task instantly; you know that every department is in charge of able, trained, skilled officials who have proven themselves competent to take charge of this marvelous piece of mechanism; you know that although it lies apparently oblivious to everything else, it has eyes which see everything for miles around, and nothing is permitted to escape its watchful vision; you know that while it appears quiet, submissive and innocent, it is prepared to hurl a steel projectile weighing thousands of pounds at an enemy many miles away; this and much more you can bring to mind with comparatively no effort whatever. Inside Google: Innovation and Collaboration

Kai-Fu Lee the president of Google China gave a presentation in Seattle about future of Google in 2007. The video can be watched here(53 min). It gave some wonderful insights in the working of Google and how it is expanding in China. Although these days the story is quite different for Google in China, but still the presentation gives a good look inside the search giant.

R&D Centres and Innovation
Google has opened 30 R&D Centers in 3 Years which span across Europe, Russia, Eatern Europe, Israel, US, Canada, Australia, India, Japan and China

How does Google do it?
Avoid Redundancy - All projects, milestones and progress are kept in the PDB(Product Database). Before you do anything, you search if someone elese is not doing it. If they are then you can maybe do it together.
Reasonable Work Distribution - Each R&D drives a major project. Collaboration is encouraged, a project is divided between two R&D(each responsible for a component of the project instead of each doing parts of the same component)
Communication - This is key. Every Conference Room has Video tele-conferencing units, lot of executive travel, mailing lists, meetings and gatherings are scheduled.
Clear Top-Down Directions - "Organize the World's Information", that is the primarry message to be kept in mind when approaching any project. There is also a Rule of 70:20:10 to focus employee time. (70% Search and Ads, 20% Related to Search,10% Brand New Search)

Google's Innovation Model
Hire people who are innovative and get stuff done. People who come up with ideas and have strong engineering skills at the same time. Management's job is to merely recruit those kind of people(innovator+engineer=Googler).

This was a look into the Search Giant and how it operates and innovates. This research was motivated by a book called Google Wants to Pay You which talks about how to use the Google Marketing Power to promote products. It made me curios to look more into Google and how does it manage to create a company which has helped normal people make money.

Master Key System: Part 7 - Steps to Manifestation

This part we talk about steps to manifest your desires.

The first step is idealization - The most important step. It must be solid; it must be permanent. The engineer, when he spans a chasm, first ascertains the strength requirements of a million separate parts. If you are not sure, return to the chair daily until the picture becomes plain; it will gradually unfold; first the general plan will be dim, but it will take shape, the outline will take form, then the details,
Then comes the process of visualization - Clearness and accuracy are obtained only by repeatedly having the image in mind. You must build it firmly and securely in your mental world, before it can take form in the world without. Your brain cells attract to themselves the substance necessary for perfect development and they secure it by silent demand, the Law of Attraction, Earnest Desire will bring about Confident Expectation, and this in turn must be reinforced by Firm Demand. Earnest Desire is the feeling, the Confident Expectation is the thought, and the Firm Demand is the will. Money, power, health and abundance, are effects and come only when the cause is found. Create ideals only, give no thought to external conditions, make the world within beautiful and opulent and the world without will express and manifest the condition which you have within. Concentrate on the things you want, not on the things you do not want. Visualize the condition which the Law of Abundance creates; this will result in manifestation.

Law is Impartial
If the law operates perfectly to bring about poverty, lack and every form of limitation for those who are continually entertaining thoughts of lack and fear, it will operate with the same certainty to bring about conditions of abundance and opulence for those who entertain thoughts of courage and power. We are too anxious; we manifest anxiety, fear, distress; we want to do something; we want to help; we are like a child who has just planted a seed and every fifteen minutes goes and stirs up the earth to see if it is growing. Of course, under such circumstances, the seed will never germinate, and yet this is exactly what many of us do in the mental world. We must plant the seed and leave it undisturbed. This does not mean that we are to sit down and do nothing, by no means; we will do more and better work then we have ever done before, new channels will constantly be provided, new doors will open;

Exercise: visualize your friend, see him exactly as you last saw him, see the room, the furniture, recall the conversation, now see his face, see it distinctly, now talk to him about some subject of mutual interest; see his expression change, watch him smile. Can you do this? All right, you can; then arouse his interest, tell him a story of adventure, see his eyes light up with the spirit of fun or excitement. Can you do all of this? If so, your imagination is good, you are making excellent progress.
