Your Pace Is the Plan

The street is full of people walking faster than you. Let them.

Speed feels like progress, but it is only movement. Progress is movement in the direction you actually chose, at a pace you can keep tomorrow.

When you match someone else's hurry, you inherit their destination too. You arrive somewhere you never meant to go, tired from a race you never entered.

Walk at the pace your own plan requires. Some days that is a stride. Some days it is a standstill while you read the signs again.

The people who build things that last are rarely the fastest in the crowd. They are the ones who refused to be rushed out of their own direction.

Keep your pace, and your pace will keep you.

A slower step taken on purpose beats a fast mile walked in someone else's shoes.

Where are you being pushed to hurry that does not deserve your hurry?
