Imagine, Dare, Believe and Persist

Imagine, Dare, Believe and Persist

Whatever you can vividly imagine, you can achieve. Everything in your world and everything around you was once an idea in the mind of its inventor or creator.

Do Less But Do It Better

doLess1

“When you’re not successful, when you’re struggling or having problems, do LESS, don’t do MORE.” – Chuck Noll

You’d be surprised at the inner images people try to use to motivate themselves. In their mind’s eye, they see tiny, dark slides of their work being done, or a fuzzy, black-and-white picture of the reward for completing a project. No wonder they’re not motivated. Make a rich and compelling picture of what you want and what you value. The bigger, richer, more colorful, more three-dimensional and clear, the better.

Remember when a game ends, win or lose, it’s time to prepare for the next one. Learning is more important than the test. It’s about the lives we touch, the legacy we can leave, and the world we can change for the better.

Changing Your Thoughts Will Change Your Life

Truth
Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul that have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this—that you are the master of your thought, the molder of your character, and the maker and shaper of your condition, environment and destiny. Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results … We understand this law in the natural world, and work with it; but few understand it in the mental and moral world—although its operation there is just as simple and undeviating— and they, therefore, do not cooperate with it.

Redesign Yourself

Past

What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now. So stop looking at that broken watch in the desolated and withering walls of your mind. Look ahead and redesign yourself !

Map of True Places (Free Book Giveaways)

MyPlace1

It is not down in any map, true places never are. -Herman Melville

That quote is from Moby Dick and it was also the inspiration for my novel, The Map of True Places by Brunonia Barry.

How do we navigate our lives amid usual life changes: people are born, people die, families break apart, new families are formed. Change happens (to borrow a descriptive quote from Hemingway) gradually then suddenly. The answer, I think, lies in finding our own true places: safe havens that are home to us and make us feel like our better selves. Sometimes these places are real. Sometimes they exist only in memory and imagination. Almost always, they are connected to the people we love.
