Let the Ripples Settle

Have you noticed how a small disappointment can take over an entire day? A conversation goes badly, a plan changes, and suddenly everything looks wrong.

Sometimes the problem is real. Sometimes we are looking at it through water we have just stirred.

When a lake is restless, you cannot see its reflection clearly. Our minds can be much the same. The first thought after a setback is not always the wisest one.

Give yourself a little space before you make a big decision. Take a walk. Write down what actually happened, without adding what you fear it means. Leave the angry reply unsent for a while.

A pause is not surrender. It is a chance to choose your response instead of letting the moment choose it for you.

You may still need to speak up, change direction, or accept something difficult. But you can do it with a clearer mind and a steadier hand.

Today, do not ask every feeling to become an instruction.

Let the ripples settle. Then decide what deserves your next step.
